'Listed drug trader' killed in N’ganj gunfight

Staff Correspondent: A drug trader, accused in 14 cases, was killed in a gunfight with DB police in Chandmari area of Fatullah in Narayanganj early Tuesday.

The deceased was known as Biplab, son of Sultan Mia, hailed from Chandmari slum.

Sources said that DB police Sub-inspector Osman, ASI Shohel and two constables were injured during the shootout.

Kamrul, Sub-inspector of District Detective Branch of police told risingbd that acting on secret information, the detectives conducted a drive to detain the drug trader around 2:30am in microbus stand area adjacent to link road in Chandmari slum. Meanwhile, drug peddlers opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back that triggered a gunfight.

Later, the law enfocers recovered the bullet-hit body from the spot. A one shooter gun was also recovered.
