London returnee in Sylhet isolation dies

A woman, who was a London returnee and was in isolation at a hospital in Sylhet, has died early Sunday (March 22), doctors said.

The 61-year-old woman passed away at Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital (Sadar Hospital) early today, confirmed Dr Premanand Mondol, civil surgeon at Sylhet.

She was admitted to the isolation unit of the hospital on March 20.

“The woman had been suffering from fever, cold, cough and breathing problem for last 10 days. Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) was supposed to collect sample of the woman’s blood today,” the civil surgeon said.
