MP Shibli stands by Monowara after risingbd reports

Dinajpur-6 lawmaker Md Shibli Sadique stood by Monowara and her son Sumon after the country’s popular online news portal “risingbd” published a report with the title ‘Youth toured as he goes for relief’ in its Bangla version.

With directives of the ruling party lawmaker, Hakimpur (Hili) upazila BCL president Sumon Mondal, municipal BCL president Tarikul Islam and upazia Swechchhasebak League general secretary Touhidul Islam Touhid handed over food assistance to Monowara and her son Sumon around 12:00pm on Wednesday.

MP Shibli Sadique told risingbd that he noticed the report published on risingbd on Tuesday night. Then he immediately instructed local leaders to reach food assistance to the family.

Monowara also talked to the lawmaker over mobile phone while receiving the food assistance.

During mobile conversation Shibli Sadique assured Monowara, “Do not worry. I’m always beside you. Write down my mobile number. Whenever you need help, just call me. I will try to come forward with help.”

Hakimpur municipal mayor Zakir Hossain Cholonto said, “People are currently confined at home due to coronavirus outbreak. We are working to fight against the virus. We have been distributing food assistance among helpless people from my own fund and whatever we are getting from government allotment, different affluent people and institutions.”
