Man gets death for killing wife

A Tangail court has sentenced a man to death penalty for killing his wife at the district’s Delduar.

Judge of Tangail Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Khaleda Yeasmin handed down the verdict on Monday noon.

The convict is known as Ashraful Islam, 27, son of late Shahjahan Mia of Delduar Garasin village.

According Public Prosecutor (PP) S Akbar Khan, Ashraful beat his wife up to death for dowry on August 18 in 2012.

On the following day, deceased’s father Abdus Samad filed a case in this connection.
