Minni’s bail petition accepted

Barguna Correspondent: A court in Barguna has accepted the bail petition of Aysha Siddika Minni in connection with the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif.

The court set July 30 to hear the petition.

Minni's lawyer Advocate Mahbubul Bari Aslam filed the petition with Barguna District and Sessions Judge Md Asaduzzaman's court around 10:30 am on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters, Advocate Mahbubul Bari said, “The court has accepted the petition and fixed the day of hearing on July 30.”

He further said the court has issued a warrant for submitting all the documents regarding the case from concerned authorities.

Earlier on July 22, a Barguna court rejected the bail petition of Ayesha Siddiqua Minni who is also the prime witness of the sensational murder case.

Md Sirajul Islam Gazi of Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate court denied the bail prayer when some lawyears prayed before the court.

Earlier, the first-year student of Barguna Government Degree College was put on five-day remand on July 17.

Later on July 18, Minni confessed to her involvement in the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif.

15 accused arrested in connection with the case gave confessional statement.

Besides, the key accused in the case Nayan Bond was killed in a gunfight with police.

Mentionable, some criminals including Nayan and Rifat Farajee attacked Rifat Sharif (25) with sharp weapon in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College Wednesday (June 26) morning while her wife was desperately trying to save him.

The entire incident was captured possibly on a mobile phone and footage of the incident went viral on social media.

Immediately after the attack, locals took Rifat to Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital (BSMCH).  Later, he was pronounced dead.

Following the death, victim's father Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif filed a case against 12 people with Barguna Sadar Police Station.

Rifat was the only son of Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif ­at Boro Lobongola village in Burirchar union under Barguna sadar upazila.
