Minor drowns in Tangail pond

A four-year-old boy drowned in a pond in Barnikishore area of Basail municipality in Bashail Upazila of Tangail on Thursday noon.

The deceased was known as Hossain Mia, son of Abdul Mannan.

Locals said, the kid was playing at his house in the morning. At one stage, he went missing. Later, locals found his floating body in the pond. The boy was taken to upazila health complex where duty doctors declared him dead.

Upazila Health and family planning officer doctor Shefali Khatun confirmed the matter.
