Mother, daughter die in Sylhet road crash

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: A woman and her daughter were killed and three others injured when a microbus collided with a wedding-party microbus on Sylhet-Dhaka highway in Lalabazar area of Dakshin Surma on Friday noon.

The deceased were identified as Salma Begum, 30 and her six year-old daughter Habiba Begum.

Locals said that the wedding-party bus was heading towards Bishwanath Upazila from Jugirgaon around 2:30pm. Meanwhile, the microbus collided with another microbus from opposite direction in the area, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

Sylhet Metropolitan police Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) Md Jedan Al Musa confirmed the matter.
