Mother, son among 3 killed in road crash

Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed and two others wounded when a truck hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Bheramara of Kushtia on Tuesday afternoon.  

The deceased were known as Jalal Uddin, 32, son of Jalal Uddin, Runa Begum, 26, wife of Mejbah Uddin and her son Ruzbi, 7.  

Bheramara police station sub-inspector (SI) Asad said, Mezbah Uddin along with his family members were heading towards Rajshahi from Jhenaidah riding the CNG-run auto rickshaw. Meanwhile, a speedy truck hit the vehicle around 3:20pm in Bheramara passenger shed area on Kushtia-Iswardi highway, leaving auto rickshaw driver and Runa Begum dead on the spot and injured three others.

Later, the injured were sent to Bheramara upazila health complex where another one died under treatment.
