Mother, two children hacked to death

A woman and her two daughters were hacked to death by miscreants at Siaikhoa in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Najnin, 28, wife of Sumon Mia; and their daughters - Nusrat, 8, and Khadiza, 2. Sumon works in a petrol pump in the area and performs his duty on night shift.

Kamrul Faruk, officer-in-charge (OC) of Siddhirganj Police Station, said the incident took place at the sixth floor of a seven-story building in the morning. Returning from office, Sumon found her wife and two daughters dead on the floor. Later, he informed police about the murder.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.

The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, the OC added.
