Muktamoni undergoes surgery at DMCH

Staff Correspondent: Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) conducted operation on Muktamoni on Saturday morning.

Doctors began the surgery at the operation theatre in the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of the DMCH around 8:15am and ended 11.15am, sources said.

About 20 doctors conducted the surgery,  said Burn unit’s co-ordinator Dr Shamanta Lal Sen.

Muktamoni, a 12-year-old girl of Kamarbaisa village in Satkhira sadar upazila, was admitted to the hospital on July 11 with a malignant growth on her right arm. Later, she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

A 13-member medical board at a meeting on August 8 decided to operate on 12-year-old girl Muktamoni as a biopsy result showed the existence of the tumour in her blood vessels in her right hand.
