Narail reports first coronavirus case

A youth has tested positive for Covid-19 at Par Chhatra village under Lohagara upazila in Narail, the first confirmed coronavirus case in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara and Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Abdul Momen confirmed this around 8:30pm on Monday.

“About 23 samples from the district were sent for testing to Khulna Medical College. Of those we have gotten results of 17, some verbally and some written. 16 have came back negative, while one has tested positive”, the civil surgeon said.

The man who tested positive returned to the district from Narayanganj, the civil surgeon said.
After receiving the report, Par Chhatra village has been put under lockdown.
