N'ganj returnee youth infected with corona in Noakhali

A youth who returned from Narayanganj a week ago tested positive for coronavirus or COVID-19 in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali.

Dr Mominur Rahman, civil surgeon of Noakhali, confirmed the matter to risingbd on Friday (April 17) night.

Kabirhat upazila health official Dr Bidyut Kumar Biswas said the 25-year-old youth came to upazila health complex with cold and fever on Tuesday last. Samples collected from his body were sent to Chattogram for test as he had coronavirus-like symptoms.

According to report on Friday night, he was found to be infected with coronavirus, the health official said.

He said the members of the patient were asked to remain in home quarantine.

The patient was taken to the isolation unit of a 20-bed hospital of the upazila after putting his house under lockdown, he added.
