Noakhali confirms 22 new cases of coronavirus in single day

At least 22 people tested coronavirus positive in Noakhali in last 24 hours, raising the total number of infected patients in the district to 48.

With the new 22 cases, coronavirus patients were found in every upazila of the district.

Of the total infected patients, two died while 3 recovered.

District Civil Surgeon Mominur Rahman confirmed the news on Monday.

He said, “Samples of the new cases were collected on May 7. They were confirmed of being coronavirus infected on the night of May 10. They were put on isolation at the isolation unit of the make-shift coronavirus hospital set up at Maizdi Shaheed Bhulu Stadium.”

“Almost all of new cases have been suffering from fever and cough. Being informed, their samples were collected by health workers,” he added.

Number of coronavirus infected people have been increasing as lockdown started easing in the district, he concluded.
