One killed in Chattogram ‘gunfight’

A so called local leader of Jubo League was killed in an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Agrabad area of Chattogram city on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Khurshid Alam, 45. RAB said he was accused in more than eight cases including murder filed with various police stations in Chattogram.

Media officer of RAB-7 Md Mashkur Rahman said a gunfight between a RAB patrol team and a group of armed criminals took place around 9.45pm in Agrabad area under Double Mooring Police Station. Later, Khurshid’s body was recovered from the spot, he said.

Three firearms and 12 bullets were also recovered from the spot, he added.
