More than eight hundred houses have been locked down in Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar in a bid to contain the transmission of coronavirus or COVID-19.

The move came as a coronavirus patient was detected in the camp.

Mahbub Alam Talukder, the refugee relief and repatriation commissioner, said the move was taken on Friday (May 15) night.

The office of the refugee relief and repatriation commissioner has had a watchful eye on the houses locked down.
