PCB proposes BCB for pink ball Test

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play at least one day-night Test amidst continuing uncertainty over whether the Bangladesh national team would get the security clearance to tour Pakistan in January-February 2020.

The series is still awaiting clearance from the BCB as they are waiting on the security report and the board are mulling whether to propose shifting the tour to a neutral venue if they do not get the green signal from the Bangladesh government.

According to the Future Tours Programme, Bangladesh are scheduled to play three T20Is and two Tests in Pakistan. According to a ESPN Cricinfo report, PCB are planning for the pink ball Test to be played at Karachi.

Bangladesh played their first-ever day-night Test at Kolkata on November 14 this year, a game that threatened to end inside two days but eventually finished on the first session of day three with India handing an innings defeat to the Tigers.

Bangladesh had showed suffered from lack of preparation heading into the pink ball Test, in fact the Test series itself, during their tour of India where tight scheduling left little room for adjusting to the longer format.

Pakistan have played four pink ball Tests so far but are slated to first Test at home in over a decade against Sri Lanka.
