Physician dies with corona-like symptoms in Chattogram

A physician has died with symptoms similar to that of coronavirus or COVID-19 in Chattogram early Wednesday (June 17).

Dr Nurul Haque breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chattogram Metropolitan Hospital, his own workplace.

He worked as a senior residential medical officer of the hospital until his death.

Dr Mohammad Selim, general manager of the hospital, confirmed his death.

On June 14, Dr Nurul Haque got admitted to the hospital with coronavirus-like symptoms. Later on June 16, he was shifted to the ICU of the hospital as his physical condition deteriorated. He died early today while undergoing treatment there, the hospital's general manager said.

Nurul Haque was also given plasma therapy to save his life, he added.

His sample was collected to test whether he was infected with coronavirus or not, he said.
