Police inspector send to jail in dowry case

A police inspector in Brahmanbaria has been sentenced to jail in a dowry and physical assault case.

Additional chief judicial magistrate Anwar Sadat passed the order rejecting bail plea on Sunday noon.

According to the case statement, on February 5, 2014, the police officer Salauddin married Tahmina Aktar. It was his second marriage. The policeman demanded Tk20 lakh as dowry from his wife Tahmina and assaulted her. Meanwhile, Salauddin also threatened her to marry another woman if he did not get the dowry.
