President arrives in Chattogram on 3-day visit

President M Abdul Hamid has arrived here in Chattogram for a three-day visit to attend different programmes.

The programmes included flag-giving ceremony to four artilleries and a passing-out parade of the 94th recruit batch of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

The head of the state along with entourage members, including his family members and secretaries concerned, arrived here by a helicopter yesterday.

Later, Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, Director General of BGB Major General Md Shafeenul Islam and other concerned military and civil high officials received the President.

After his arrival, President Hamid planted a sapling in front of the VIP complex of Artillery Centre and School after receiving the guard of honour.

The President also enjoyed a cultural programme along with his family members at the Mushfiq Auditorium of the centre.

Secretaries concerned to the President were also present during the programme followed by a dinner.

The President will confer the national standard to 1, 2 and 3 field regiment artillery and 38 AD Regiment Artillery at the parade ground of the centre today.

On February 24, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces will attend a passing-out parade of the 94th recruit batch of BGB as the chief guest at BGB Training Center and College here.
