RU professor dies with coronavirus symptoms

Fakhrul Islam, 86, Retired Professor of Rajshahi University (RU) died with coronavirus symptoms on Thursday (July 2).

He was an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, Rajshahi University. He was also first chairman of the department and dean of science faculty.

Confirming the matter, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital’s deputy director Dr Saiful Ferdous said, he was taken to hospital around 1:00pm in critical condition. But, he died half an hour after admission.

His body will be handed over to the quantum foundation for completing burial, he added.
