Robber killed in Ashuganj ‘gunfight’

A suspected robber was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Jatrapur Chaporbaria area of Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Saddam Hossain, 26, son of Kangal Mia of Beparipara area in Sarail upazila of the district. He was accused in robbery cases filed with different police stations.

Three robbers--Akash Miah, 27, Hridoy Miah, 25, and Asharaful Islam, 25, --were detained from the scene.

Ashuganj Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Jabed Mahmud confirmed the news.
