Rohingya killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’, 5 held

A Rohingya man was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Balukhali Moragachhtola area of Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar early Sunday.

Law enforcers seized Yaba, arms and shells from the spot. Later, police conducted drives in the camp and held five others with Yaba.

Morjina Akhter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, confirmed the news.

Three members of police sustained injuries during the ‘gunfight’. They are being given treatment, he added.

The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
