SBMC’s medicine department on lockdown

The men medicine department of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College(SBMC) has been temporary put under lockdown.

The decision was taken after a patient died at the isolation ward of the hospital.

About 24 staff working in the ward have also been sent to quarantine.

Director of the hospital Dr. MdBakirHossain confirmed the news.

Earlier around 3.30am on Friday, a 40-year woman died at the ward. She was admitted to the ward as suspicion of corona patient.

Dr. MdBakirHossain said the patient was suffering from fever, cold and cough. But hiding the information, her relatives admitted to the hospital’s medicine department. At night the woman tested positive for coronavirus.
