Section 144 imposed in Cumilla

The local administration has imposed section 144 in Barura upazila of Comilla following a clash between two rivals of ruling Awami League.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anisul Islam imposed the restriction in the area visiting central Eidgah field this morning.
Upazila Awami League was scheduled to hold Tri-Annual Conference in the spot. Besides, Upazila Awami League convener also Cumilla-8 constituency MP Nasimul Alam Chowdhury Nazrul announced conference in the same venue.
On the other hand, upazila chairman ANM Mainul Islam announced program on the same location.
Additional police super Abdullah Al Mamun said the authority imposed the section 144 in the area to avoid untoward situation.
