Singapore returnee fined for violating home quarantine rules

A Singapore returnee was fined Tk 20,000 on Wednesday night for breaching home quarantine rules at Basail in Tangail district.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamsun Nahar Swapna, who operated a mobile court, fined the person.

The expatriate was the resident at Kashil Parchimpara of the upazila.

The expatriate has been kept in home quarantine in the upazila but the person went out of home, the UNO said.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus death on Wednesday. Four more people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, taking the number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 14.
