That Achhia gets food assistance

The helpless elderly woman of Habiganj named Achhia Khatun has finally received food assistance.

Mohammad Gaziur Rahman Imran, Vice Chairman of Shayestaganj Upazila of Habiganj, reached Achhia with food assistance on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, country’s popular online news portal risingbd published a news over the helpless woman titled “Achhia eagerly waiting for food assistance (খাদ্য সহায়তার অপেক্ষায় বৃদ্ধা আছিয়া)”. Shayestaganj Upazila Vice Chairman Imran noticed the news and took initiatives to reach food to the helpless woman.

Achhia Khatun expressed her gratitude to Vice Chairman Imran after she had received the food assistance. She also thanked risingbd for publishing a news over her miserable life.

Vice Chairman Imran told risignbd that government relief is being allotted to union level from upazila parishad. They are providing relief to helpless people in villages. Achhia was also supposed to get relief.

“I have stood by her and said her to make me just a phone call if she needs something,” he added.
