Four college students have seriously been injured in a head-on collision between a private and two motorcycles at Kaliganj upazila in Satkhira.
The incident took place at Katakhali area on Kaliganj-Shyamnagar highway around 10:00am on Monday.
The injured were known as Noman Gazi, 21, son of Abul Kalam Gazi of Miksimil village under Dumuria upazila of Khulna, Rajon Gazi, 22, son of Mawla Gazi of neighbouring Shahapur village, Sakib Sardar, 22, son of Saiful Sardar and Apu Gazi, 20, son of Abzal Gazi of the same village.
It was learnt that some students of Dumuria’s Shahapur village, who read in honors second year, were heading towards Sundarbans by seven motorcyles on a tour. On the way, two of their motorbikes fell in road crash, leaving the four seriously injured.
Firsty, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) took them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, two of them were referred to Khulna Medical College and Hospital as their conditions deteriorated.
According to locals, two motorcycles collided with an opposite head private car at Katakhali on Kaliganj-Shyamnagar highway. Four riders of the two bikes skidded off their bikes and sustained seriously injured.
Dr Ziaur Rahman, on duty officer of Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, confirmed the news.
