Trader shot dead in Bagerhat

A local trader was shot to death by miscreants at Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat district on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Uttam Kumar Basu, 38, a pesticide trader, and son of late Anil Basu at Attraki Kundopara of the upazila.

According to locals, Uttam Kumar received bullet injury around 8.30pm on Monday and he was immediately taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.

Abu Sayed Md Khairul Anam, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Police Station, said on information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue.
