Two including Rohingya killed in ‘gunfight’

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two suspected drug peddlers, including a Rohingya man, were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf upazila early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 20, at Maheshkhaliapara of Teknaf upazila, and Mohammad Kamal, 22, at Balukhali Rohingya camp.

According to BGB-2 sources, a team raided the Naf river area after being tipped off that a yaba consignment was being brought into the country through the border point. The BGB team came under fire as soon as it reached the spot forcing them to back fire that triggered a gunfight.
