Two siblings arrested over raping domestic help

Police on Friday night arrested two siblings for their allegedly raping a domestic help, 14, from their home at Kalibari under Basail upazila in Tangail.

They were known as Sijan, 29, and Ripon, 38. They both are sons of Khoka Babu of the village.

Earlier, the housemaid’s mother filed a case in this connection with Basail Police Station on Thursday night.

According to case statement, the housemaid hailed Kuliarchar of Kishoreganj. She had been working as domestic help in a house of Mirpur. Housewife Ripa, 28, went to India for treatment on July 16, 2019. She left the domestic help at his father’s home in Basail. Since, she had been violating by the rapists.

The housewife gave assurance to marry the domestic help with Sijan after she returned home. But she later refused. So, Sijan, Ripon and Ripa were sued.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Billal Hossain of Basail Police Station confirmed the news of arrest.
