UNO cremates coronavirus-infected village doctor

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kashiani Upazila has ensured honourable cremation for a village doctor who died of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Gopalganj.

The deceased was known as Bimal Krishna Trinath, 60. He died this morning at his residence after he succumbed to the virus. The man from Tetulia village of Razpat union was 16th victim of Covid-19 from the district.

Kashiani upazila health and family planning officer Dr Md Kaiyum Talukdar confirmed the matter.

He said, the person was tested positive on Saturday and remained in home isolation. But, after his demise, no one from his family came forward to join funeral. Later, maintaining health rules, upazila administration took steps to cremate the body.
