Want to make Bangla Vision a family Tv: Shamim Shahed

Shamim Shahed

Popular Bangla television channel Bangla Vision completes its journey eight years. The program Chief of Bangla Vision Shamim Shahed talked details on contemporary position of the TV and current situation of mass media with the risingbd. Rashed Shaon talked with him and the magnetic part of the conversation is mentioned here.

Risingbd: Bangla Vision completes its eight years and starts 9th year venture. What was the memorable achievement during the tenure?

Shamim Shahed: It is a common allegation over our Bangladeshi TV channels that if the Logo of the channels is withdrawn; it is tough to identify which channel it is?

We (the Bangla Vision) could get rid from this allegation.

Very easily we can define Bangla Vision from other channels by our exclusive programs.

Bangla Vision airing some special programs and drama serials with unique stories like Ekhon Ki korbo, Bipashar Otithi, Sikandar Bax, Arman Vi, Red Signal, Long March, Harkipta, Amar Ami, Moner Kotha, Sore Ao.  These stories can easily vary the differences of programs than other television programs.

Risingbd: How the Bangla Vision is going to celebrate the 9th year celebration.

Shamim Shahed: A two-day long special programs has been chalked up to celebrate day. Special events were featured in the first day when guests were gathered a lot.

Bangla Vision Rothe Banglar pothe, special musical show and special drama Sikandar Bux Ekhon Pagol Pari were aired. On Monday night the last episode was aired.

Risingbd: Do you think that despite commercial competitive market, selective audience and the struggle is tougher?

Shamim Shahed: It is really a hard war field. Earlier BTV was only television channel in the country while currently its numbering is between 30 and 35.

A number of private television channels are going to air soon, it is learnt. I think the television media will face a risk in near future. It will be great challenge for a new channel to be popular.

As the number of quality newspapers in the country is limited, the number of popular television channels is also limited.

Risingbd: What is your planning on Bangla Vision and where you want to take the channel?

Shamim Ahmed:  In the initial stage we tried to make channel as a fun based channel and later we get a little bit success.

In the next days, we have planned to need based channel for every family.

If all could run smooth, we are hoping to run that way in the next year.

Risingbd: You have acted as a university faculty member, judge of Unicef, director and presenter. Do you not feel problem to manage so many professions?

Shamim Shahed: Actually I don’t feel such problem.  I really praise of Bangla Vision authority. As the authority has been extending me massive support, I could manage my other time schedule.

I hope that the support of Bangla Vision would remain continued and that can result to keep the top position. I also hope that I would be able to go ahead as per my planning.

Risingbd: What about your film directing?

Shamim Shahed: I will start filming my film Jalbalika as early as possible.

Meanwhile I get membership of Film director’s Society. The primary works has been ended of the film. If the political situations of the country remain stable, I am hoping to begin filming the movie in the end of this year.

The movie is going to run jointly by Bangladesh and India. I think the story of the film is also attractive. It is mater of time.
