Wild elephant kills woman in Rangamati

A woman was killed in a wild elephant attack in Matichhara area of Ghagra union under Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati.

The deceased was known as Mesi Marma, 47.

Sources said a wild elephant, all of a sudden, attacked the area on Friday night and destroyed hill cultivation. At one stage, the elephant attacked house of Pia Ang Marma, leaving her dead. Meanwhile, all dwellers of the house managed to flee the scene. Later, the body was recovered on Saturday morning.

Rangamati Kaukhali upazila UNO Shatarupa Talukdar confirmed the matter.
