Woman killed by lightning strike in Barguna

A woman died after being struck by lightning during Nor'wester (Kal-Baishakhi) in Barguna Sadar upazila on Wednesday (May 6) morning.

The deceased was identified as Jayeda, 40.

Jayeda was struck by lightning while picking up wood of trees around 8:30am during storm, leaving her dead on the spot, said Abir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Barguna Sadar Police Station.

The deceased was a resident of Choto Labongola in Burirchar union of the upazila.
