Youth dies of coronavirus-like symptoms in Satkhira

A youth, 27, has died of coronavirus-like symptoms at Kamargati village under Kaliganj upazila in Satkhira.

After the death, local administration has put six houses and a local shrine under lockdown.

Besides, it was under process to send his sample to IEDCR for coronavirus test after collection.

Dholbaria union parishad chairman Showkat Hossain and local member Abdur Rab said the youth used to work as salesman of a company in Dhaka. Owner of the company died of coronavirus-like symptoms. Then, five people returned home by ambulance on April 20. They youth also returned home five days ago when he was ill. Panic triggered he was noticed with fever and cough. On Friday, he was admitted with Shyamnagar upazila health complex with suggestions made by a doctor. Later, he was referred to Satkhira sadar hospital as his condition deteriorated.  There he died on Saturday morning.

Satkhira civil surgeon Dr Hussain Shafayet confirmed the news.
