Youth killed in Khulna mob beating

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: A mob caught a youth while stealing in a fish gher (enclosure) in Khulna and later beat him to death.

The deceased was identified as Asgor Sheikh, 35.

Locals said Asgor was caught while stealing fish in a fish gher (enclosure) at Noyhati union under Rupsha upazila in Khulna and later he was given a good beating, leaving him critically injured.

Asgor succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Rupsha Upazila Health Complex early Sunday, the locals added.

Tipu Sultan, sub inspector (SI) of Rupsha police station, confirmed the matter.
