Youth shot dead by minister’s gunman

A young man has been shot dead allegedly by a gunman of Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM MozammelHaque at Kutubdia in Kaliakoirupazila of Gazipur.

Another sustained bullet injury in the shooting that took place early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shahid, 30, son of SaburUddinatMirzapurupazila in Tangail district. The injured is MoinUddin, 32, son of Abdul Majed of the locality.

AlamgirHossainMajumdar, officer-in-charge of Kaliakoir Police Station, said Kishore Kumar, assistant sub-inspector, along with his two friends- Moin and Shahid were chatting at a field in the dead of night.

At one stage, Kishore shot his two friends, leaving Shahid dead on the spot and Moin injured.

Hearing sounds of bullets, local people went to the spot and took Moin to a local hospital.

However, Kishore went into hiding after the incident.
