Abducted ex-NSU student Akib traced

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Former North South University student Zunaid Hossain Akib, who was abducted from Chittagong, has been traced in Dhaka.
He is now staying at one of his friends` house in the capital, confirmed his brother-in-law, also Ramgarh uapazila chairman Shahidul Islam Farhad on Thursday morning.
He said, "Akib, son of former BNP lawmaker of Khagrachhari-3 Wadud Bhuiyan, made phone call to his mother. He told his mother that he is now in sound condition and staying in Dhaka."
Abductors released him at Rupganj area of Narayanganj on Wednesday midnight, he added.
According to family members, Zunaid Hossain Akib, 25, of Kusumbag Residential area, went to the city`s Agrabad area with his driver Mohammed Mostafa, 30, in the afternoon for processing some visa documents.
Zunaid, who completed his undergraduate degree from the capital`s North South University last April, returned to Chittagong to look after his family business as his father died last February, they added.
Later, police found his car in front of the parking lot of the Chittagong Diabetic General Hospital last night.
