Walton becomes the second-largest listed company

The capital market has regained a pace at the end of the year. Country’s electronics giant Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited emerged as the second-largest listed company in the country, next to Grameenphone only.

Market review of a renowned organization confirmed the matter. British American Tobacco Bangladesh has secured the third position in market valuation. At the end of the year, Square Pharmaceuticals, Robi, United Pharmaceuticals, Renata, Beximco Pharma, ICB, and Marico were listed as fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth respectively.

The market capitalization of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at Tk448,230 crore on the last working day of this year. Grameenphone is a Tk46,868 crore company contributing 12 % of the DSE.

At the end of the year, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited is a Tk33,740 crore company contributing 8.7 % of the DSE market capitalization.
