Prof Dr Taher appointed as CU VC

The government has appointed Dr Md Abu Taher as the vice-chancellor (VC) of the Chittagong University (CU).

He is a professor of the university’s management department and full-time member of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The Education Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday (March 19).

The appointment has been made as per approval of President and Chancellor of the University, the notification said.

Born in Satkania upazila of Chittagong in 1962, Dr Abu Taher received higher education in Management at Chittagong University; Inha University (South Korea) and Texas A & M University (USA). He secured first class first in Hons’ (1982) and Masters (1983) examination in Management.
