BUET students continue protest for 6-point demands

Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) continued their demonstration for the second consecutive day on Saturday (March 30) to press home their six-point demands including the banning of student politics on the campus.

Students of different batches started the demonstration with various placards at their hands by gathering on the road in front of the Shaheed Minar from 8:00am.

They are protesting a gathering of Chhatra League activists in the middle of night on the campus where political activities are banned.

Although student politics has been banned on the BUET campus after the brutal murder of second-year student of the university’s electrical and electronics engineering department Abrar Fahad, some leaders and activists of BCL entered the campus around 2:00am on Thursday and carried out political activities.

Expressing resentment over the incident, the students submitted several demands to the BUET administration in writing yesterday afternoon.

They also demanded legal action for those who entered in the middle of night on the campus.
