KUET VC, Pro-VC resign

In the face of strong movement by students, Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammed Masud and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr SK Shariful Alam of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have resigned.

An official from the Ministry of Education, seeking anonymity, confirmed this information.

He said that they sent their resignation letters to the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (April 23) night. Now the process of accepting their resignation letters is underway.

The official said, “When the issue was not resolved despite taking all the steps by the government, the Ministry of Education requested the vice-chancellor and the deputy vice-chancellor of the university to consider the issue. After that, they sent their resignation letters. As per the rules, their resignations will be sent to the university’s Chancellor, the President. If he approves, the resignation will be effective.”
