Movie name: Triangle

Genre: Horror/Thiller

IMDb Rating: 6.9/10

Duration: 1hour 39 minutes

Single mother Jess goes with a group of friends on a boat journey; assumes something wrong while the journey. During the journey, a storm happens, Jess and her friends are forced to jump on another ship and strange things start to happen while the ship journey.

The name of the ship is ‘Aeolus’. Most of the people don’t understand what happens in the movie. At first, I think the story is about some horror incidents in a ghost ship. But after watching the twisted ending I question myself what actually happens. So, I am trying to explain briefly about this movie.

At first, we have to know about the well-known Greek myth about Aeolus and Sisyphus. Sisyphus, the son of Aeolus, cheats with death not once, he cheats twice and gets miserable punishment for his cunningness.

The movie is based on this theme of cheating with death and this theme is shown in the movie with the time loop. The ship Aeolus is the symbol of the punisher and the protagonist Jess is the symbol of Sisyphus. We can see three types of Jess in the movie.

1. Arrogant, dark outfit, kills everyone;

2. Try to learn what actually happens with her and her friends;

3. No idea of what is happening and traumatized.

The arrival on the boat is a continuation incident of the time loop and the taxi driver is the symbol of the Angel of death (Azrael in Islam and Yama for Hinduism).

Jess always tries to run from her death and cheats with the Angel of death, and gets trapped in the loop again and again. In this way, the non- ending time loop happens endlessly with her.

Personal rating: 9/10. The mystical theme makes the movie different. I think this movie is underrated because most people don't get the movie.
