MBSTU announces Tk 77.5 crore budget

Tangail’s Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) has approved a budget of Tk 77 crore 05 lakh for the fiscal year 2021-22. In the last 2020-2021 financial year, the budget was Tk 60 crore 51 lakh. Compared to last year, the budget has increased by 8.53% this year, which is Tk 8 crore 54 lakh.

This time the size of the budget has increased and the allocation has also increased the most in the research sector. Last year, the total allocation for the research sector was Tk 80 lakh, which this year has increased to Tk 90 lakh, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Alauddin approves the budget on Wednesday.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will provide Tk 68 crore 05 lakh in the budget and the income from the university's own sources has been estimated at Tk 9 crore.

The highest expenditure in the budget has been taken as salary and allowance which is Tk 51 crore 34 lakh.
