‘There is still time to reschedule polls if BNP joins’

Election Commissioner Anisur Rahman said, “Whether BNP will participate in the upcoming 12th parliament election or not is up to them. However, the Chief Election Commissioner has told BNP that there is still an opportunity to join polls. Election may be rescheduled if they join.”

The election commissioner said this after a view exchange meeting with the returning officers and members of the law enforcement agencies related to the elections of Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban districts on Tuesday (November 28).

Anisur said, it is natural that everyone will join the participatory elections. No seat is being taken lightly. Every seat is important. Situation may get worse any time. So massive preparation will be taken. The commission will do what is necessary to make the election free and fair.
