Vegetables-laden pickup set alight in Sirajganj

Miscreants have set a pickup van carrying vegetables on fire on the west side of Bangabandhu Bridge at Panchlia area in Sirajganj.

The incident took place around 3:15 am on Wednesday (November 29).

Confirming the incident, Sirajganj’s Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Wadud said a pickup van laden with vegetables was heading towards Dhaka from northern regions of the country around 3:15 am. When it reached Aziz Filing Station area, some miscreants set the vehicle on fire. The front part of the vehicle was burnt.

On information, police rushed to the spot and tried to douse the fire. Later, firefighters came and brought the blaze under control, the OC said.

Police are trying to identify those who set the pickup on fire, he added.
