AL candidate’s nomination declared invalid

The nomination paper of Awami League’s candidate Shammi Ahmed has been declared invalid.

Returning Officer (RO) of Barishal-4 Md Shahidul Islam announced this on Monday.

According to sources, Shammi Ahmed’s nomination paper has been declared invalid due to dual citizenship of her.

The RO, who is also the deputy commissioner of Barishal district, also declared the nomination paper of current Member of the Parliament (MP) Pankaj Nath from the same constituency and independent candidate as valid.
