MP, UNO, OC injured by blockaders in Jessore

District Correspondent, JESSORE, Nov 30: Over 20 people were injured including local parliament member, UNO and Officer-in-Charge of local police station as blockaders attacked them in Chalkidanga area of Monirampur upazila on Saturday.

According to locals, blockaders attacked the local parliamentarian Khan Tipu Sultan`s motorcade while he was going to Monirampur from Jessore around 4.15am.

 

Three police officers and the upazila nirbahi officer were also wounded in a clash between blockade supporters and law enforcers at that time.

 

The injured are: member of the Jatiya Sangsad, Jessore-5 constituency Khan Tipu Sultan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Nazul Islam, OC investigation under Monirumpur Police Station Nasir Uddin.

 

Of them, UNO Nazrul injured critically. None was arrested in this connection, police said.
