Two die while repairing truck in Narayanganj

A driver and his helper died when a truck they were repairing fell on them in Araihazar area of Narayanganj on Friday.

The victims are driver Yunus, 23, and his helper Yakub, 20.

Police said a goods-laden truck became out of order in the Purinda area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. After parking the truck by the roadside, the driver and helper were repairing the vehicle lifting up the van using a jack. Unfortunately, the jack slipped, causing the truck to fall on them, leaving them dead on the spot.

Inspector Ashraf Hossain of Bhulta Highway Police said the bodies of the victims have been handed over to their families.
