Temperature drops to 5.5°C in Panchagarh

Residents of Panchagarh are shivering in the cold with the mercury falling to 5.5 degree Celsius in the district.
Shivering cold accompanied with dense fog and cold wave disrupted the normal life of people here.
Panchagarh recorded temperature at 5.5 degrees Celsius at 6 am today (January 28). It was the lowest recorded temperature in last five years in the country.
Earlier on Saturday (January 27), it was 7.2 degrees Celsius in the district.
Public life is disrupted by the bone-chilling cold, further intensified by dense fog and the freezing northern air. Vehicles are moving with headlights on.
Russell Shah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tetulia Meteorological Observatory center, said that the minimum temperature had dropped to 5.8 degrees Celsius the last 5 years ago. The temperature dropped here to 5.5 degree this year setting a new record.
